14.5 (1) A contributor who has not exercised the entitlement to make a top-up election before the expiry of the period to exercise it, loses it.

(2) The entitlement is not lost, and the contributor is deemed not to have been advised of it, if the contributor ceased to be a member of the regular force before the expiry of the period.
