Health of Animals Regulations

Version of section 112 from 2006-03-22 to 2008-01-30:

  •  (1) Subject to subsection (3), no person shall feed edible residual material to swine or poultry or permit swine or poultry to have access to or to be fed edible residual material unless that person does so under and in accordance with a permit issued by the Minister pursuant to section 160.

  • (2) A permit referred to in subsection (1) shall remain in force for the calendar year in which it is issued, or for such shorter period as is stated therein.

  • (3) A person may feed edible residual material produced in the person’s house or on the person’s farm to swine and poultry that are raised by that person and that are located on the same premises as the house or farm in which the material was produced.

  • (4) Subsection (3) does not apply to a person who operates a hotel, motel, restaurant, slaughter-house, school, college, hospital, orphanage or other institution.
