Whereas the Governor in Council, pursuant to subsection 91(6) of the Financial Administration Act, is satisfied that the Canada Post Corporation is empowered under subsection 16(2) of the Canada Post Corporation Act to acquire any real or personal property.Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs and the Treasury Board, pursuant to paragraph 91(1)(b) of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby to authorize the Canada Post Corporation to acquire shares in the Cooperative Vereniging International Post Corporation U.A., a corporation incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands and having its head office located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, effective December 31, 1988.
