R-10</Text></Footnote></Provision></Order><Body lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179016" lims:id="1179016"><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:lastAmendedDate="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179017" lims:id="1179017"><MarginalNote lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179018" lims:id="1179018">Physical injuries</MarginalNote><Label>1</Label><Text>For the purposes of the definition <DefinitionRef>serious injury</DefinitionRef> in subsection 45.79(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="R-10">Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act</XRefExternal>, the following physical injuries — that are not transient or trifling in nature and for which medical attention was received from a person who is entitled to practice medicine or practice as a nurse under the laws of a province — are prescribed:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179019" lims:id="1179019"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>any physical injury that results in</Text><Subparagraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179020" lims:id="1179020"><Label>(i)</Label><Text>a substantial loss or impairment of mobility of the body,</Text></Subparagraph><Subparagraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179021" lims:id="1179021"><Label>(ii)</Label><Text>a loss of function, in whole or in part, of any limb, organ or other body member,</Text></Subparagraph><Subparagraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179022" lims:id="1179022"><Label>(iii)</Label><Text>a loss of vision or hearing in whole or in part, or</Text></Subparagraph><Subparagraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179023" lims:id="1179023"><Label>(iv)</Label><Text>a substantial disfigurement;</Text></Subparagraph></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179024" lims:id="1179024"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the fracture of a limb, a rib, a vertebra or the skull; or</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179025" lims:id="1179025"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>any burns, cuts or lacerations to a major portion of the body.</Text></Paragraph></Section><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:lastAmendedDate="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179026" lims:id="1179026" type="CIFnobold"><MarginalNote lims:inforce-start-date="2019-06-25" lims:enacted-date="2019-06-25" lims:fid="1179027" lims:id="1179027">Coming into force</MarginalNote><Label>2</Label><Text>These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.</Text></Section></Body></Regulation>
