AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS MARKETING ACTNova Scotia Hog OrderOrder Granting Authority to Regulate the Marketing in Interprovincial and Export Trade of Hogs Produced in Nova ScotiaShort TitleThis Order may be cited as the Nova Scotia Hog Order.InterpretationIn this Order,Act means the Natural Products Marketing Act of Nova Scotia; (Loi)Commodity Board means the Pork Producers Marketing Board of Nova Scotia established pursuant to the Act; (Office de commercialisation)hog means any member of the species Sus Scrofa L. (domestic pig) produced in the Province of Nova Scotia; (porc)Plan means any plan for the marketing of hogs established and amended from time to time pursuant to the Act. (Plan) SOR/82-146, s. 1Interprovincial and Export TradeThe Commodity Board is authorized to regulate the marketing of hogs in interprovincial and export trade and for such purposes may, with respect to persons and property situated within the Province of Nova Scotia, exercise all or any powers like the powers exercisable by it in relation to the marketing of hogs locally within that Province under the Act and the Plan.LeviesThe Commodity Board is authorized,[Repealed, SOR/80-90]in relation to the powers granted to it by section 3 with respect to the marketing of hogs in interprovincial and export trade,to make orders fixing levies or charges and imposing them upon and collecting them from persons described in section 3 who are engaged in the marketing of hogs, and for such purposes, classifying such persons into groups and fixing the levies or charges payable by the members of the different groups in different amounts; and the Commodity Board may use such levies or charges for its purposes, including the creation of reserves, the payment of expenses and losses resulting from the sale or disposal of hogs and the equalization or adjustment among producers of hogs of moneys realized from the sale thereof during such period or periods of time as it may determine.SOR/80-90
