Order Respecting the Marketing in Interprovincial and Export Trade of Pullets Raised in the Province of Manitoba

The Manitoba Egg Producers’ Marketing Board, pursuant to section 3 of the Manitoba Pullet Order, made by Order in Council P.C. 1980-1276 of May 15, 1980Footnote * pursuant to section 2 of the Agricultural Products Marketing Act, hereby makes the annexed Order respecting the marketing in interprovincial and export trade of pullets raised in the Province of Manitoba.

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Manitoba Pullet Marketing (Interprovincial and Export) Order.

Interpretation

 In this Order,

Act

Act means The Natural Products Marketing Act of the Province of Manitoba; (Loi)

Commodity Board

Commodity Board means The Manitoba Egg Producers’ Marketing Board established pursuant to the Act; (Office)

producer

producer means

  • (a) a person who raises pullets in the Province of Manitoba and includes an employee of the person,

  • (b) a person who is entitled, under a lease or agreement, to a share of the pullets raised by a person referred to in paragraph (a), or

  • (c) a person who, as security for a debt, takes possession of the pullets raised by a person referred to in paragraph (a); (producteur)

pullet

pullet means the female of any class of domestic chicken belonging to the species Gallus domesticus, that is less than 20 weeks of age and is raised in the Province of Manitoba for the purpose of producing eggs for human consumption. (poulette)

Prohibition

 No producer shall market pullets in interprovincial or export trade unless the Commodity Board authorizes the producer to do so.
