Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Industrial Milk and Industrial Cream Delivered for Marketing in the 1978-79 Dairy Year

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2, 8.2, 10 and 11 of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Industrial Milk and Industrial Cream delivered for marketing in the 1978-79 dairy year.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Industrial Milk and Cream Stabilization 1978-79 Regulations.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations,

dairy year

dairy year means the period commencing on April 1, 1978 and ending on March 31, 1979; (campagne laitière)

producer

producer means a person residing in Canada and producing industrial milk or industrial cream. (producteur)

Prescribed Price

 The prescribed price for industrial milk and industrial cream for the dairy year shall be the aggregate of

  • (a) one hundred and sixty-five and one-half per cent of the base price thereof; and

  • (b) the index applicable thereto calculated in the manner set out in the Production Cost Index Regulations.

Payment to Producers

 The Board may pay two hundred and seventy-seven million, seven hundred thousand dollars to the Canadian Dairy Commission for the benefit of producers for the purpose of stabilizing the price of industrial milk and industrial cream at the prescribed price marketed during the dairy year.
