Woven Fabrics and Shells of Woven Fabrics Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 115 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Woven Fabrics and Shells of Woven Fabrics Remission Order.

Remission

 Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff on: woven fabrics, unbleached or bleached, solely of single cotton yarns, measuring 70 decitex or more but not exceeding 150 decitex, having a sum of yarns per 10 cm in the warp and the weft of 500 or more, with an air permeability not exceeding 5.0 cm3/cm2-s-1 as determined by CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 36-M89, for use in the manufacture of shells for down- or feather-filled pillows, duvets and featherbeds, and; on shells made solely of the above fabrics for use in the manufacture of down- or feather-filled pillows, duvets and featherbeds.

Conditions

 The remission is granted on condition that

  • (a) a purchase order for women fabrics and shells made of them, was concluded before the date of registration of the Order Amending the Schedule to the Customs Tariff, 2002-5;

  • (b) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years of the date of importation of these woven fabrics and shells made from them.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
