His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture, pursuant to section 2 of the Agricultural Products Marketing Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Order granting authority to the British Columbia Hog Marketing Commission to regulate the marketing of hogs produced in British Columbia in interprovincial and export trade.Short TitleThis Order may be cited as the British Columbia Hog Order.InterpretationIn this Order,Board means the British Columbia Hog Marketing Commission; (office)hog means any hog produced in British Columbia. (porcin)Interprovincial and Export TradeThe Board is authorized to regulate the marketing of hogs in interprovincial and export trade and for those purposes may, with respect to persons and property situated in British Columbia, exercise all or any powers like the powers exercisable by the Board under the Natural Products Marketing (BC) Act of British Columbia in relation to the marketing of hogs locally within British Columbia.Levies or ChargesThe Board may, in relation to the powers granted to it by section 3,fix and impose, by order, and collect levies or charges from persons referred to in that section who are engaged in the production or marketing of hogs and for those purposes may classify those persons into groups and fix, by order, the levies or charges payable by the members of the different groups in different amounts; anduse the levies or charges for the purposes of the Board, including the creation of reserves, the payment of expenses and losses resulting from the sale or disposal of hogs and the equalization or adjustment among producers of hogs of moneys realized from the sale thereof during such period or periods of time as the Board may determine.
