AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS MARKETING ACTNova Scotia Chicken OrderOrder Granting Authority to Regulate the Marketing in Interprovincial and Export Trade of Chickens Produced in Nova ScotiaShort TitleThis Order may be cited as the Nova Scotia Chicken Order.InterpretationIn this Order,Act means the Natural Products Marketing Act of Nova Scotia; (Loi)Board means the Nova Scotia Marketing Board; (Régie)chicken means a chicken six months of age or less raised or produced for a purpose other than for egg production; (poulet)Commodity Board means the Nova Scotia Chicken Marketing Board; (Office de commercialisation)Plan means any plan for the marketing of chickens established and amended from time to time pursuant to the Act. (Plan)Interprovincial and Export TradeThe Commodity Board and the Board are each authorized to regulate the marketing of chickens in interprovincial and export trade and for such purposes may, by order or regulation, with respect to persons and property situated within the Province of Nova Scotia, exercise all or any powers like the powers exercisable by each of them in relation to the marketing of chickens locally within that Province under the Act and the Plan.LeviesThe Commodity Board is authorized,[Repealed, SOR/80-90]in relation to the powers granted to it by section 3 with respect to the marketing of chickens in interprovincial and export trade,to make orders fixing, imposing and collecting levies or charges from persons situated within the Province of Nova Scotia engaged in the production or marketing of chickens and for such purpose classifying such persons into groups and fixing the levies or charges payable by the members of the different groups in different amounts, to use such levies or charges for its purposes, including the creation of reserves, and the payment of expenses and losses resulting from the sale or disposal of chickens, and the equalization or adjustment among producers of chickens of moneys realized from the sale thereof during such period or periods of time as the Commodity Board may determine.SOR/80-90
